To this day, West Side Story remains the undisputed number 1 classic musical: bold, relevant and radical. An international creative team was put together around New York director Lonny Price and has created an exciting new production, which opens a new chapter in the epic success story of West Side Story, featuring the legendary original choreography of Jerome Robbins.

The history:

In the deserted streets, backyards and warehouses of the Upper West Side, the “Jets” – sons of white US immigrants – fight against the newly arrived Puerto Rican “Sharks”. Not only is control of the neighborhood at stake, but more importantly a sense of identity and belonging. When Maria, the sister of the “Sharks” leader Bernardo, falls in love with a “Jet” Tony, the tension becomes unbearable. Because the gangs cannot tolerate any suggestions of reconciliation, the fate of the two lovers heads inexorably towards tragedy.

Let's experience a fascinating evening together!

Our new member Caroline Bohrer invites us to the Cantinetta Antinori at 7 p.m. for an Italian aperitif before the performance. We would like to thank her very much for this initiative!

The musical then begins at 8:30 p.m. in the Grimaldi Forum.
